[wp_ad_camp_2] He is Vaski. He loves making music. 22 years old and lives in Minneapolis, MN. Likes to longboard and loiter outside of gas stations with shady looking people (his friends).  What is your background and where do you come from? I grew up in a suburb of minneapolis, MN. I lived a pretty normal life through high school, except I listened to tons of electronic music which was uncommon at the time. [wp_ad_camp_1] Name 3 key elements a good dubstep track should have. Huge drum sounds (especially the snare), sub bass and a half-time groove at 140 bpm. Give one simple insight to one of your signature production tricks. The best and most simple trick is to have a good listening environment (good speakers set up properly/good headphones). What has been your fa

Tritonal & Super8 & Tab Team Up For New Release

EDM NEWS, NEW RELEASES, TRANCE
[wp_ad_camp_2] After a successful Phase 1 of their joint North American tour, trance duos Tritonal and Super8 & Tab are ready to release the tour's namesake--their collaboration, 'ARC.' Out today on Air Up There Recordings, 'ARC' is a dance floor ready, big-room progressive house track with trancey undertones and showcases the energy the pairs have unleashed from coast to coast this fall. [wp_ad_camp_1] "Most of the work on 'ARC' was done over Skype and file sharing," says Dave Reed of Tritonal. "But when we had a several day break from the tour, Miika (Super8) and Janne (Tab) stayed in Austin and we finished up the track together at the Tritonal studio." From sold out nights in Los Angeles, Seattle and Denver, the 'ARC' Tour has delivered fans a rare opportunity to see two o

[wp_ad_camp_2] JOOP (NL) found a minute in his busy schedule for us this week to share the tracks that are to be found in his latest sets! ØRJAN NILSEN - COPPERFIELD (Original Mix) [ARMIND] If you take the title of this track than certainly we can speak of some magic. I think Ørjan thought exactly the same way when he finished this baby in the studio. Magic is a good word to describe the amount and consistency that Ørjan is keeping up the last few months on the release flow. ‘Copperfield’ cuts the raw edge of tech-house, combined with some piano and synths. A stunning break, and after this it takes you to a full-on outburst of the Nilsen sound. A very good track with a real edge to it. A peak time track that really spices up your Dj set. A must have boys and girls! 4/5 (JOOP) [

DUBSTEP, EDM NEWS, NEW RELEASES, REVIEWS
[wp_ad_camp_2] So I’m just sitting here cruising FaceBook when my buddy Gary The Human (performed at my birthday party, which you can find a review of in the ‘PartyRock’ section.) sent me a link to get a FREE download of the new Rusko EP “KAPOW.” (If you haven’t heard of him Rusko is a famous producer out of England.) I immediately downloaded the tracks and started grooving in my seat. [wp_ad_camp_1] There isn’t one bad track (in my opinon) on “KAPOW” although there are some that are less interesting than others.  The EP starts out with a track called “Yeah” which is a perfect babystep from Elektro into Dubstep.  It has a catchy fun elektro hook that is more than dance radio friendly. I understand filthy – grimey – dubstep is an aqquired taste and this track is a great way to introd

BEST OF, INTERVIEWS
[wp_ad_camp_2] Armin Van Buuren has been one of the most successful people in the dance music industry til date. As a producer he has sold millions of records. As an entrepreneur he is a partner in Armada Music. And as a DJ he recently won the DJ Mag number one DJ award for the fifth time. So we are delighted to have him for an interview. [wp_ad_camp_1] You were the number 1 DJ for 4 years. Then David Guetta took over for one year.. And now you are the number one again! In my feeling you were not really keeping busy with the thought of being number one or not to be number one. So did you actively promote yourself again through Armada and your own channels to make another shot at the number one position? Or did you merely count on your fan base? what would you say was the magic behin...

This comprehensive guide leads aspiring trance producers on the way to the top. Recently Oliver got covered on Beatsmedia, Usa Trance Movement, iVibes, DJ News, EDM Update and many more. So therefore, we wanted to know a bit more about his background and his drive.  What attracts you specifically into trance as opposed house or dubstep? The Emotional aspect: Trance can make you cry, smile, laugh, and dance all at the same time. Trance has no association with race, color, or religion. It is something you truly have to enjoy, not like some forms of music where most people don't know what the lyrics are, tra

[wp_ad_camp_2] At only the age of 17, Danny Avila has become one of the hottest acts in the world of EDM. From winning the ‘Best Newcomer DJ’ at the prestigious 2011 Vicious Music Awards at just 16, through an incredible 2012 Ibiza season that caught the attention of everyone including Tiësto and dance bible DJ Mag where he became the youngest ever Covermount CD artist, to the announcement of his residency as the youngest ever prime-time DJ on US broadcasting behemoth SiriusXM, Avila is the name on everyone’s lips – and rightly so. Describe an average day in the life of Danny Avila. It really depends. Lately I spend so much time on the road. I'm playing in the States pretty much every weekend which of course is amazing but also takes me away from home a lot more than I was used

EDM NEWS, INTERVIEWS
[wp_ad_camp_2] Milk & Sugar aka Mike „Milk“ Kronenberger & Steven „Sugar“ Harding became the most famous German DJ/Producer act with their house classics "Let The Sun Shine" and "Love Is In The Air". But they have never been more successful than now. "Hey (Nah Neh Nah)" rocketed in the Top-10 charts in 10 countries and received gold status in Germany, Austria and Switzerland! What do you consider to be your biggest break that launched your DJ career? Steven: We've been both deejaying since the mid 90's and had a couple of different projects going on before we launched Milk & Sugar. This was already taking us to big festivals and clubs around central Europe, but after releasing „Higher & Higher“ in 1999, which was our international breakthrough, we've had the chan

[wp_ad_camp_2] From the ashes of the Soviet empire, from the flames of history, rises PROXY. Post 9/11 rave vibes cloaked in Muscovite angst. A line drawn in smoking rubble along the border dividing East and West, Stüssy and Spetsnaz. 1997. The Year of Tar and Horses. The Prodigy plays Red Square in Moscow. Hundreds of thousands of people attend the show, but only one is truly changed. By the crushing sound. By people absolutely losing their shit to synths and sustained aggression. The experience causes PROXY to question the quality and purpose of Russian “electrica” acts like Nu-Lag Xpressions and Sweatislav. There was simply no scene from which to emerge. “Whatever a fool does, he does it wrong. A poor dancer is impeded even by his own balls,” he recalls. In a decade’s time, PROXY wou

[wp_ad_camp_2] [wp_ad_camp_1] The man who shaped trance music into a live performance art returns this month with another high octane, apex-ascending floor thriller. On the Club and On Air Mixes, Giuseppe spikes ‘Lost For Words’ with seismic drums; sensationally plucked strings, hypersonic synths and a full spectrum of other big room components. To that Amba Shepherd (whose recent studio work includes tracks with Porter Robinson and Ferry Corsten) adds her unique vocal inflexion. Pitched perfectly between the points of lamentation and elevation, her heart-in-mouth lyrics and breath-stealing song push ‘Lost For Words’ into the stratosphere. With Armin van Buuren all over the Giuseppe Ottaviani rework of Paul van Dyk Ft.Plumb’s ‘I Don’t Deserve You’, the trance overlord has been eq

Trance Prodigy Releases Go-To-Guide For Trance Music Production

[wp_ad_camp_2] Oliver Daniel is not your average teenager. Passionate about music in general and with a fond interest in trance music, he spent years researching how to produce the music he loves most. When Oliver first began producing there wasn't an all-encompassing resource for producing trance music. New producers therefore had to spend hundreds of hours online researching equipment, techniques and how to use Logic Pro, before even starting to produce in Logic Pro. So Oliver then decided to create a single concise package that would save new producers hundreds of hours of time and enable them to dive straight in to producing high quality tracks. The result is the brand new Uplifting Trance Production Guide. It took Oliver over one year to create the guide. The product primarily...

[wp_ad_camp_2] Techno, as one of the backbones of dance music, has always been more of an underground style in the total landscape of EDM genres. What attracts you in the genre and what drives you to continue to push the bar? Do I push the bar? Haha... I guess I never saw myself that way. Well let me start by saying there are a lot of types of techno I really don’t like, but what draws me to techno specifically is it’s energy. I’ve always tended toward the darker sides of music regardless of genre. For rock it was mostly punk, for 60s-70s it’s mostly classic & southern rock, for 80s it’s new wave, for hip hop: it’s rap/top40, for drum & bass it’s jungle/tech-step, breakbeat it’s new school breaks, and for techno, I want it to be TECHNO! Don’t get me wrong, I like tech-house

[wp_ad_camp_2] On “Irreverence”, their forthcoming debut full-length for Dim Mak Records, the French electronic dance music quartet pens a new playbook for the genre. [wp_ad_camp_2] Travis Baron is one of the most familiar faces in the Seattle techno scene. He is a DJ, promoter and recently launched his label KR Recordings together with partner in beats James Grindle. Hammarica.com caught up with him to talk about all things techno. [wp_ad_camp_1] You have been a techno DJ for over a decade. What is your strongest attraction to the genre as opposed to other EDM styles? I love all kinds of electronic dance music but techno (the 4 to the floor warehouse banger style) was really this first kind of electronic music that I got in to. You are known as a promoter of successful techno events under the name Knightriders in the Seattle area. More recently you started a label under the same name and releasing the records on vinyl. What would you say i...
