Hi Henry, thanks for doing this Q&A. Please tell our readers a little bit about your background
Hi Wilf, Thanks for having me! I guess I started as a raver back in 1991 going to legendary NYC clubs like Limelight and The Tunnel, then went to College at Ohio State and met Titonton Duvante and Kevin Kennedy. Then back to NYC and started working at Instinct Records (Moby, Prototype 909) doing marketing. From there I was invited to open up Intergroove US as the managing director and build out their distribution nationwide launching labels like Noom, Time Unlimited, Plastic City, Le Petit Prince, State of Mind, Eukatech, Molecular, Tortured, Fine Audio, Soap, Monoid, Potential, Contrast, and hundreds of others importing records from our parent companies in Germany and the UK. After that, I...

During these last two decades, electronic music has been gaining steady ground in popularity. After a first surge during the last twenty years of the previous century, the USA slowly warmed up to all the different electronic sounds that were coming from Europe. Ultimately resulting in a thriving domestic movement of producers and DJs who are pushing their own unique sounds within the genre. Coming to the point where kids now prefer to be a DJ rather than to play guitar in a band.
This increase in popularity also created a broader market for synth manufacturers. Brands like Korg, Roland and Behringer all increased their production lines to cater to this crowd, and even modular synthesis has become more mainstream.
With all these developments, one would think it would be easy to find a toy ...
Toni Costanzi is back with another vocal gem, after his track "Bomboclvt" (TOP 100 BEATPORT ELECTRO HOUSE CHART), with a stunning track that once again shows off his endless diversity. After Plasmapool he was signed with EDX's triple A label "Sirup. Music", it makes for a killer one-two.
This wonderfully emotive slice of electronic pop moves Toni away from pure dancefloor ambitions and onto the airwaves, with its beautiful songwriting and honeyed vocals elevating it to something really special. Muted piano chords and the slightest of beats flutter away under the vox, with gentle builds thrusting us towards the surprisingly bombastic crescendos. Sweet pitch-bending synths glide over a chunky breakbeat rhythm and fizzing, pulsating synth chords to create a huge wall of sound. Flitting...

GET THE ALBUM BT Gate X-138 – Magadan Pylons HERE
You just came out with your new album Magadan Pylons. what was your general theme you had in mind with making this album?
There’s a city in south eastern Siberia called Magadan. If you have ever been there, pylons are very visible, those electrical towers and power lines. It’s a contrast to the natural area surrounding the city and that is the theme of the album.
What inspired you?
I think it’s that contrast between nature and man, even though man is apart of nature as well. So you have this industrial, technological urban environment versus the natural beauty all around. There’s also those older Soviet style buildings and more modern ones intermixed withing the city. I really like the Brutalist architectur

GET DARKBOSS – TURN UP THE BASS ON BEATPORT!
DARKBOSS proudly presents his debut release ‘Turn Up The Bass.’ He is a Canadian DJ influenced by the edgier sounds of early 90’s techno which he combines with the current sounds of electro house and beyond. His music is marked by the use of one liners by various emcees, combined with gritty synth work and in-your-face drum sounds. It’s these qualities which lend his music as a prime energizer in any situation.
